One of my favorite attractions in Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is the Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor. This attraction has been around a while, but it still cracks me up every time I get a chance to see it. So in honor of the Laugh Floor – here is our Mike Wazowski Tsum Tsum cupcake!
If you happen to visit Walt Disney World, be sure to stop by the Laugh Floor, but make sure you step in line ready with a joke to text to Mike, after all he may use it in the show! Here’s one of my favorites…
A tennis ball walks into a bar. The bartender says, “we do not serve your kind here!” The tennis ball says, “Fine! I’ll see you in court!”
LOL – I love that one, oh then there is this one… What do you call a cow with no legs? Ground Beef! Ok, that one isn’t as good as the first, but I still chuckle at that one everytime hear it!
Not only does this short, round, green, one-eyed, skinny armed, monster co-star with Sulley in the Pixar Monsters franchise, but he also headlines at the Laugh Floor. Mike is so popular he has made cameos in a few other great Pixar films like: Finding Nemo, Cars, WALL-E, and Toy Story 3.
If you are a fan of When Harry Met Sally, or better yet – City Slickers, then you probably have a soft spot in your heart for Mike because Billy Crystal is the voice behind the animation. It would be hard to think of any other voice for Mike. Billy Crystal’s voice brings him to life and gives him the character and attitude that we all know and love.
|It’s a little known fact, but Billy Crystal actually read for the voice of Buzz Lightyear, check this out:|
Not quite the same vibe that Tim Allen brought to the table, but fun to see either way!
The year that Monsters, Inc. was released, it became the highest grossing animated film of all time. Seeing that it followed Toy Story, that is quite a statement. It is really no surprise, the Pixar team that created Monsters, Inc. is incredibly talented. Tell me you don’t crack up watching this:
Disney is really unique in the way it uses its characters, treating them like they are simply alive. They are also experts at innovation and technology to keep surprising fans. In this video, the Epcot ball, otherwise known as Spaceship Earth, is transitioned into Mike Wazowski for a special event.
This isn’t my first attempt at recreating this lovable character in an edible format, I’ve also made Mike out of rice crispy treats and frosting for my daughter’s birthday cake. I have a photo of that lying around here somewhere, maybe one day I’ll post for you to see.
This cupcake topper, like the other Tsum Tsum cupcakes, is made from fondant, using Wilton Gel Food Coloring.
My kids got me hooked on the Disney Tsum Tsum game by Line. It’s available on both Android and IOS and it’s a simple, connect the character type of game, but you can earn coins and buy your favorite Tsum Tsums to play with. Each of the Tsum Tsums in the game has a special skill they can use to help clear Tsum Tsums. Mike Wazowski, in particular, can allow you to clear vertical line of Tsum Tsums. Mike’s special skill can be activated by connecting 15 Mike Wazowski Tsums. You can find Mike in the Premium box in the store.
